You Be the Judge!

Thursday, November 17th, 2005

Here is one very interesting picture I got from the Internet.  It is an illusion created by Phillippe G. Schyns and Aude Oliva from the University of Glasgow.

Here’s what you have to do.  See the picture in fron of you now.  You will notice that Mr. Angry is on the left and Mrs. Calm is on the right.

Faces

Now, get up from your seat and move 12 feet backwards.  PRESTO!   They switched places.

The morale of this illusion is that we may not be seeing what’s actually there all the time.  So stop judging people… especially you see them from far!  Hehehe…  Looks like our eyes are not that perfect after all!

Caffe Cino

Friday, November 11th, 2005

CaffecinologoCoffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate… seems like drinks you can get in any cafe. But there’s a new one in town. With less than three weeks old, Caffe Cino is indeed a relaxing place to have drinks with friends. Situated in Hilton Hotel Kuching, Caffe Cino surely have lots to offer. This is one cafe you need not to order at the counter. Just sit, and they will come to you. Well finally… good service! Its worth the extra 10% service charge that you are paying for!

Here are my evaluation of CaffeCino:

Food & Drinks (Taste): 7/10.
Food & Drinks (Variations): 7/10.
Service: 9/10.
Deco: 9/10.
Value for Money: 8/10.

Well… recently, a few friends and I celebrated a friend’s birthday there and I really appreciate the services they provide for us. They even dim the light of the place when my friend is about to blow out the candles! Now that’s personalized service! So to the Caffe Cino staff… a million thanks for making us feel at home there! Here are some pics of the location, menu, drinks, and my friends. :o)

@ Work

Friday, November 4th, 2005

Just a simple blog to waste a bit of my time here in the office.  Had to work today while my other colleagues are off to holidays (they are forced to take compulsory leave).  As for me and a few colleagues, we have to come back to the office to do exam invigilation.  Oh well… at least we get back our compulsory leave creditted back to our leave count.

Macam-Macam Ada!!!

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005

Last night, I managed to go to the largest buffet in town: Holiday Inn’s Macam-Macam Ada Buffet!  I was very amazed with the range of food they are offering.  These food includes Chinese, Malay, Indian, International, Japanese, you name it, they have it!  I would say it is really worth the money.  For RM45++, its a haven and heaven for all food lovers!  So if you want to have a taste of this spread, tonight is the last night they are offering it.  Here are 12 pictures I took last night for your viewing pleasure:
